University Telephone Prefixes

All extensions on the University System can reached from University phones by dialing the last five digits of the directory number (e.g., 6-xxxx Main Campus, 7-xxxx Student Housing, 2-xxxx West Campus and Canyon County Center).

Cell Phones

Employees whose job duties require the frequent use of a cell phones (or "smartphones") can be given a taxable monthly allowance to compensate for business use of a personal phone. Employees must work with their supervisors to determine the dollar amount of their monthly allowance.

Phone Queue Software

Cisco Unified Contact Center software can be implemented in your department to manage call center operations and allow call control capabilities such as call answer, hold, conference, transfer and automated call distribution services.

Callers dial a main queue number for a department and are routed to the next available representative or are placed in a queue for the next available representative.

Monthly charge is for five Queue Agents (phone stations) with ten Resources (calls in Queue).

Additional Queue Agents, Resources, and Administrators are $5.00 each per month.
